How do we know if we have eternal life? The opening verses of 1 John are full of encouragement and assurance to God’s children so that we might know that we have eternal life. John proclaims the eye-witness testimony of himself and the other disciples, in Jesus, the life appeared so that eternal life belongs to all who believe in him.
