As we continue today in Matthew’s gospel, we are shown Jesus’ heart of compassion for the lost. It is Jesus’ great love for his sheep that motivates his mission to seek and to save, and it is his mercy toward sinners that takes him to the cross. We are given a vision of the wonderful and joyful kingdom that Jesus is bringing, and we are challenged to share his vision and to join in his mission of announcing the good news.
