Current Sermon Series

Leading up to Christmas, we looked together at the first ten chapters of John’s gospel which answered the question “What if God was one of us?” with a resounding “He WAS (and is) one of us – in Jesus, who showed himself to be God incarnate.” As we lead up to Easter we are looking at the rest of John’s gospel and see that God became one of us for a reason – to conquer death for us, by dying in our place and rising from the dead.

Feb 3    ”I am the Resurrection and the Life” (John 11)

Feb 10  ”The hour has come…” (John 12)

Sermon series: What if God was one of us?

Back in 1995, Joan Osbourne asked in song “What if God was one of us?”. “If God had a name what would it be? And would you call it to his face?” she sang. In the months leading up to Christmas we have been looking at John’s gospel, which makes clear the amazing truth that God was indeed one of us. His name is Jesus. And he came so that we could have a relationship with God.
